Orlando International Continues To Reach New Passenger Traffic Highs

ORLANDO, FL. September 18, 2017 – Seven months into 2017 and Orlando International Airport (MCO) continues to see passenger traffic climb as summer travel season reaches its peak. Overall passenger traffic was up 8. 73 percent in July with over 4.1 million travelers for the month.

“A good portion of our success in July came from new service to cities that were unserved at this time last year,” says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “When you open new domestic and international markets to such an exciting destination as Orlando, the results are great for Orlando International and the local economy.”

July Statistical Data:

  • July domestic traffic climbed 9.11 percent with 3,514,087 total passengers at MCO
  • International traffic was up 6.55 percent in July with 589,559 travelers
  • Combined overall traffic was up 8. 73 percent with a total of 4,103,646 passengers in July
  • Rolling 12-month traffic places overall passenger volume at 43,450,406 at Orlando International which is a 5. 79 percent increase
